Progress is being made as we speak! I’m so excited! Almost 2 years of advocacy (I’ve been doing it alone..1 day I’ll learn to mind my own business. LOL) An email from the University of Belize after making connections at the conference I had no business being at LOL (That’s where that picture was taken)
Win or lose, I’m thrilled beyond words that baby steps are moving forward…slowly…caribbean time LOL
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THE GUTSY PARTICIPANTS 🙂

Thanks for this challenge, Sonia. When you asked about a Gutsy Goal, I challenged myself. I already had some lofty goals — like eight separate book tours in 2014. I knew I would and could do these things.
However, when you put that magic word “Gutsy” out there, I decided to make a goal public that was one of those private musings: “Wouldn’t it be fun to tell story at The Moth? And find a national audience? And inspire people and make them laugh and cry — like others have inspired me??” http://themoth.org/
Okay, this grandma is going for it! First step is to really study how to make a pitch and practice it in front of my most creative and candid friends.

Shirley,
So glad you made your goal public. I know you can, and will do it. You’ve spoken in front of crowds before, and you have many stories to share. Is it going to be the story in your memoir about the worm? Mariana Williams who wrote the “Gutsy Girl Power” story on my site last week runs the “Moth” storytelling in Long Beach, CA. She even spoke to the writers’ club I belong to about it. All the best Shirley.

There are some great goals here and I like them all. I really identify with Sharon and your gutsy travel goal and Tamara and your book but I have to vote for #8. It is a goal that will help others and it seems really worth going for.
Congratulations to Darlene for making progress on your also worthy goal and Greta for making those submissions.
Shirley, I really like the gutsiness of your goal and Jeffrey, I hope you find just the right publisher.
As for Mike and Carol … I might just have to pinch your goals as my own. Good luck everyone.
Sonia Marsh says
Nikki,
Thank you for your detailed review of the “Gutsy Goals” and for your vote. So nice to hear from you again.

Finishing up third book in mystery novel series. Have written a rough draft of query letter and attended an authors workshop that helps each other become better writers. That last one was tough as well. Good writers out there.

I’m researching online for my autumn trek through Europe, watching for good airfare, and carefully shopping for the perfect backpack (any suggestions?). In the meantime, my hubby keeps asking, “what’s taking you so long?
Sonia Marsh says
I use Google flights now. They seem to show better deals than travelocity, expedia etc. All the best Sharon.
