What does it feel like to go through a lock on a barge?

Have you ever experienced going through a lock on a barge? If not, come share a three minute ride on a barge with me on the river Lot in southwest France.

Did you see the boats you can rent on my video? You don’t need a boat license. Only a quick demo and you’re off on your own, heading through lock after lock. Have Fun!

Next week, I’m going through a face-lift. Well not me, but GUTSY WRITER.

We have friends who rented a barge and traveled the canals in southern France for a week, I believe. There was even a point where some kind of "boat lift" hoisted the barge to a different elevation then they continued their cruise. We would love to do that.

I went through the panama canal many years ago. That was FASCINATING, it took all day to transverse the canal.

Looks like fun. When my grandmother lived in Nottingham, we often walked along the canal to watch this.

Going through a lock on a barge is something I've wanted to do for ages – and fully intend to in both England and France as soon as I have the time, money, opportunity, and someone to accompany me. No better way to see a country, or so I am told. Thanks for sharing your experience.

When we had our pontoon boat here in Florida we navigated many of the lakes. There are two big lakes near us and to get from one to the other you have to go through a lock. It was a fun experience!

Blogger's new templates are sure fun to play with. I just gave myself a new "do" and am going to give it a week to see if I still like it. Your blue is pretty.

I love the idea of a barge cruise or a boat cruise along a river in France…or maybe the Mosel in Germany which was a gorgeous drive. Not sure I'd trust my hubby to drive, though. 🙂

Never done that, that´s for sure. Looks like fun though.

    Genuinely "uplifting" experience, Sonia.
