Last Friday evening, one of my recent dreams became a reality: I met Chris Guillebeau. I arrived early and parked myself in a plastic chair, second to front row seat, inside a fun and funky bookstore called, Book Soup, in West Hollyood.
Bursting at the seams, a crowd of enthusiastic fans of all ages, including a young boy, (you can view photos taken by Dyana Valentine,) came to listen to him speak. There is a photo of Chris talking to me in the middle of all the pictures. You can’t miss my bright red sweater.
Chris talked about: how to live a remarkable life in a conventional world. He believes the two most important questions we need to ask ourselves are:
1). What do you really want to get out of life?
2). What can you offer the world that no one else can?
He mentioned a common theme that crops up when people e-mail him about taking action for something they want to do, or to change in their lives.“I worry I’m too late.”
Chris replies, “The best time to start was probably last year, but failing that, today will do.”
Unfortunately, I did not hook up with Jodi Sagorin, whom I wrote about last week.
I have many “someday” dreams that I plan to make into reality.
What about you?
What dreams do you wish to make into reality?

Oh it was so fun seeing you and Chris Guillebeau together! Thanks for sharing the key points of his talk. I love his approach to life.
I'm in a different cycle of my life ~ a quiet one. My dream is to get my greenhouse rocking, deepen my spiritual practice, and be helpful and authentic on my blog. Seems like the perfect time for all of that!

Sounds like a great evening!
Yes, I have many dreams that I'd still like to come true. Many of them involve travelling, something I haven't done since the kids came along…

@Alwayswellwithin
I didn't know about your greenhouse. What do you grow in it? The spiritual and authentic side do shine through in your writing.
@Chris Guillebeau
Thanks for being who you are and doing what you do. Sonia.
@ladyfi
I know you lived in China, where would you like to go next?

I'm always looking for ways in which I can help to make peoples' lives better. Not on a grand scale, but on a personal scale. I've tried a lot of "grand scale" stuff, which hasn't worked, so I've shifted focus.
Besides, I don't have the energy for "grand scale" stuff any more.

Many of what people "dream" of seems more like activities to fill one's time. The body fails and finances sometimes fade, so I concentrate on where I want to be in a state-of-mind. And, actually, I'm in a pretty good place right now.

@Rob-bear
I can attest to that Rob-bear. You have helped me with your comments and e-mails and, as you know, life improves when you help one person at a time. Thanks.
@Robert the Skeptic
Where you want to be in a "state-of-mind," is what counts. You've found a good place.

Well there are so many, catching up on everyone's blogs will do me for now! I hate being gone so long as I follow so many people! But after that, there are just to many to post!
Love Di ♥

I've taken on lots of new adventures since I retired from real world work, and I'm loving what I do now. My only regret is that I didn't spend a little more time writing during those work years, and a little less time watching television.
