I love the idea of a barge cruise or a boat cruise along a river in France…or maybe the Mosel in Germany which was a gorgeous drive. Not sure I'd trust my hubby to drive, though. :)

There are two big lakes near us and to get from one to the other you have to go through a lock. It was a fun experience!

There was even a point where some kind of "boat lift" hoisted the barge to a different elevation then they continued their cruise. We would love to do that.

I went through the panama canal many years ago. That was FASCINATING, it took all day to transverse the canal.
